The Gift of God is Eternal Life
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord.” Romans 6:23
God loved you so much that he gave His Son Jesus to die for you. You accept His gift by believing on Him.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.” Acts 16:31
Adopted into the family of God, now we are a Child of God.
“According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him, in love having predestinated us unto the adoption of sons by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, to the praise of the glory of his grace, through which he hath made us accepted in the Beloved; in whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.” Eph. 1:4-7
“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Spirit, which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ, our Savior, that, being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” Titus 3:5-7
Sealed with the Holy Spirit, our earnest (guarantee) of Eternal Life, we are his purchased possession.
“In whom ye also trusted, after ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also after ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise, who is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.” Eph. 1:13-14
“Now he who establisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God, who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.” II Cor. 1:21-22
“And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, by whom ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God, for Christ’s sake, hath forgiven you.” Eph. 4:30 & 32
Our inheritance is reserved in heaven, we are kept by God’s power
“To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.” I Peter1:4-5
We may know that we have eternal life
“And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God, that ye may know that ye have eternal life.” I John 5:11-13
“All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. And this is the Father’s will who hath sent me, that of all that he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.” John 6:37 & 39
Jesus keeps us in His hand, we do not keep ourselves there.
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, who gave them to me, is greater than all, and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. I and my Father are one.” John 10:27-30
God gives us everlasting life, not temporary life
“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life; and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him.” John 3:36
“And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.” I John 2:25
It is already done and finished, we are passed from death unto life.
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation, but is passed from death unto life.” John 5:24
We cannot do anything to save ourselves, or to keep ourselves saved. Christ did the work for us, He said “It is finished”
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.” Gal. 2:16
“To them that are sanctified by God, the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called.” Jude 1
“And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true; and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.” I John 5:20
“And this is life eternal, that they might know thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” John 17:3
We do good works to glorify God because we love Him, not to keep ourselves saved. God says for us to grow, study and learn.
“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needed not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” II Tim. 2:15
“Nevertheless, the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his; and, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” II Tim. 2:19
“Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.” II Tim. 1:9
“For ye were once darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord; walk as children of light.” Eph. 5:8
“I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus, my Lord; and be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith.” Phil. 3:8-9
We belong to God and are joint heirs with Christ
“What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price; therefore, glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” I Cor. 6:19-20
“The Spirit himself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God; and if children, then heirs—heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ.” Romans 8:16-17
Today, if you will believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, that he died for your sins, you will be saved for all eternity.
I do believe that you sent your Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross as a substitute for me, and that He rose again from the grave and is in heaven right now. I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and want Him in my life to be my Savior. Thank you for saving me, and for giving me your gift of eternal life.”
If you believed and prayed this prayer God has saved you and given you His wonderful Gift of Eternal Life.

The Choice is Yours
The free will choice given to us by God.
“Jesus said, verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.” John 6:47
The choice of your eternal destiny is yours, and God has given us information upon which to base that choice. It is the Bible. The Bible is the written, infallible, inspired Word of God. “But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.” John 20:31
God tells us in his Word that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to die on the cross for our sins, as a substitute for us. He did this because He loved us. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16.
Jesus died on the cross for us, but He did not stay dead. God the Son, Jesus Christ rose again the third day. He then went back into Heaven to sit at God’s right hand. We have a living Saviour, a living God.
The Bible says, “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.” I John 5:11-12.
God has made salvation very simple. He has also made it so that it does not depend on us, but on what He has done for us. It is a free gift from God. He says “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.” Acts 16:31.
The only thing we have to do is make a choice. We have free volition. All we have to do is BELIEVE. It is that simple. We believe that Jesus Christ is God and that He came to die for our sins. We tell God the Father that we are believing in His Son, Jesus Christ, to save us and we are saved, because God promised that we would be if we accepted His free gift. There is nothing that we have to do, nothing we have to give up, no works that we have to do, no rules we have to keep. The Bible says “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God - not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9.
God by His grace is offering us the free gift of eternal life through His Son, Jesus Christ. All we have to do is believe. This is our choice.
“He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation, but is passed from death unto life.” John 5:24.
“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life; and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him.” John 3:36
“He that believeth on him is not condemned; but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God”. John 3:18
The Bible also says there is a hell for those who reject God’s gift to them, His sacrificial gift of His only begotten Son. Eternity is a very long unending time to have to think about the opportunity that you had to hear the gospel and about the choice that you made. Think about it now and accept the wonderful gift that God is offering to you because He loves you.
“Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Acts 4:12
“Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation” 2 Corinthians 6:2
“How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation” Hebrews 2:3
“In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there ye may be also.” John 14:2-3
“Jesus saith unto Him, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6
Sources of Study
If you are a new believer, or you want to study and learn but you don't know what to study, here are some sources and places to go.
The Bible says "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." 2 Timothy 3:16
... and "But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ." 2 Peter 3:18
But how do we do that? I can only share with you what I have found over the years. I have been studying with the tapes and books of R.B. Thieme, Jr. of Berachah Church of Houston. I have seen such fantastic growth and learning that it has been really amazing! They have MP3's, or CD's, that have 36 hour-long messages on each one, I play them in my car and have them on my computer. He teaches from the original languages of Greek and Hebrew and goes into such depth that you grow at a phenomenal rate. I highly recommend this. You can see the lessons and books he has at the website: rbthieme.org/
There are also some good television programs where you can really learn and study the Bible. One is "Leslie Hale - the Irish Preacher" from Tarpon Springs, Florida. Another really good teacher is Les Feldick, his program is called "Through the Bible with Les Feldick". Les Feldick is on three different channels, one channel calls it "Les Feldick". Charles Stanley's "In Touch" is another good one. These can also be found on the web.
For your own Bible reading I like and would recommend the version "The New Scofield Reference Bible, the 1967 Edition". It has great notes and has updated the old out-dated words of the 1600's to words of today, but still keeps the wonderful feel of the King James.
Another good study book to go along with the Bible is "Halley's Bible Handbook - New Revised Edition", by Henry H. Halley. I love this one because it has lots of archeological discoveries in it that prove over and over the accuracy and authority of the Bible, God's Word!
I hope you will take these suggestions and study for yourself the wonderful truths in God's Word!!
